Bathing a dog:Ah, the little doggie bath. Is anything better than bonding with your pooch? While experts recommend bathing your dog every fifteen days (sooner is preferred but that’s the maximum you should go without bathing your dog), they also indicate to start them young. Ensure when you bathe your dog that it’s a fun time that he not only becomes used to it, he enjoys it as well! There are a few key things to remember when bathing your dog. First and foremost, use a special dog shampoo and soaps made specifically for dogs such as the Bug Off Organic Shampoo for dogs or the Orange Lavender Organic Hemp Bar Soap. For instance, this natural organic dog shampoo bar is great for your dog’s skin. And for the owner, it’s easy to use. The bar is full of organic hemp seed oil with omega fatty acids plus shea butter, olive, and additional skin conditioning oils. This is excellent for your dog’s skin which results in a super lustrous and smooth coat. Dog shampoo and shampoo bars are made with specific ingredients to keep your dog’s coat and skin healthy. In addition, while bathing your dog, you’ll notice that cleaning a dog’s face must be done frequently and very carefully. You’ll be examining your dog as well so this encompasses the dog grooming phase; ensure your dog’s eyes are clear of discharge but if there is discharge, you may clean Fido’s eyes with damp cotton. The same applies to the ears: you can clean your dog’s ear lids with pieces of cotton as well. Next, during the dog bath you’ll examine the dog’s teeth to see if there are any abnormalities (in the gums, too). Overall, while bathing your dog it’s meant to be a fun exercise so you’ll need to pet your dog while you bathe him; talk to him, and hug him. Once the dog bath is completed, you may dry your dog with a towel and then with a hair dryer on the lowest setting possible several inches away. Note: never ever put the dryer on or near the dog’s face. Next, you’ll brush and groom Fido’s coat. At The Dog Bowl, nothing is more important than your pets’ health and well being.
